Rain garden

While it was sprinkling today i planted the first of at least three rain gardens i intend to put in. For those who don't know here is the definition of a rain garden;
A rain garden is a planted depression that allows rainwater runoff from impervious urban areas like roofs, driveways, walkways, and compacted lawn areas the opportunity to be absorbed. This reduces rain runoff by allowing stormwater to soak into the ground (as opposed to flowing into storm drains and surface waters which causes erosion, water pollution, flooding, and diminished groundwater).[1] Rain gardens can cut down on the amount of pollution reaching creeks and streams by up to 30%.[citation needed]
Not long after i planted it we had a huge cloud burst/storm. Lightning, hail, and just buckets of water came down in just minutes. Here is the new rain garden in action.
As the water flow comes to a stop it has a chance to soak in. looks like i could use some more rocks.

This will be the next rain garden i plant. It gets even more water than the first one. I will have to make this one bigger.
